What’s New in Grocery?
About Our Grocery Department
Harmony’s Grocery department is thoroughly enjoying its recent expansion. We’ve nearly tripled our size allowing us to carry full grocery sections of product that previously occupied a few shelves or new categories such as our incredible new BABY section! We work diligently to provide a full selection of high quality products at competitive prices while maintaining our purchasing priorities of organically grown, locally produced, minimally processed and packaged foods.
Serving Bemidji as the only downtown grocery store, we take seriously the responsibility to provide products that serve the needs of many different shoppers. It has long been our goal to provide WIC products in order to serve our community better and our expansion provided the necessary space to broaden our product lines and brand options to become WIC certified. It has also been our desire to better meet specific dietary needs such as: gluten-free, wheat-free, low-sodium, vegan, vegetarian, unrefined and natural sweetener alternatives just to name a few. So, be prepared to see many new product options to meet you and your family’s grocery needs!

On October 28th the membership gathered at the United Methodist Church meeting room. Harmony’s staff prepared a fantastic tex mex dinner for our owners and it was a wonderful chance to see familiar faces and a few new faces as well. Board treasurer Mary Overlie led a great discussion on ways Harmony could strengthen the community’s connection to local and organic foods prior to the start of the official meeting. The question is also posted to Harmony’s Facebook page so if you have some ideas head over to FB and post on our wall.
Harmony’s Frozen Department received quite a boost from the expansion. The new freezer units are beautiful, huge and easy to use. It was even easier to fill them up with all of our already popular staples and the great suggestions from our very involved shoppers!
